Stoneham Man Charged with Robbing a Marblehead Liquor Store at Knifepoint [PHOTOS, VIDEO]

Michael A. Gallella, 30, of 4 Webster Ct., Stoneham, has been charged with armed robbery, armed assault with intent to rob and larceny over $250 for his role in the Jan. 19 robbery of Beach Bluff Liquors on Humphrey Street.

Gallella was charged with the local hold-up after allegedly at Harrigan's Liquor Store in Hamilton Saturday night.

According to a report filed by police Lt. Sean Sweeney, on Sunday, local officers learned that the Hamilton Police Department had arrested Gallella and a suspected accomplice for armed robbery.

According to Hamilton police Sgt. Stephen Trepanier, on Saturday, "an individual walked into a liquor store brandishing a knife and robbed the clerk" before fleeing in a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon, the same vehicle used to flee the scene of the robbery.

Hamilton officers reportedly and arrested Gallella and a passenger, Ashley Mazac.

Mazac, 24, was charged with accessory to armed robbery after the fact and cocaine possession. Hamilton police said it was not immediately clear where she is living but has recent addresses listed in Gloucester, Peabody and Malden. It is likely she will also face additional charges, police said.

A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered clothing matching that worn by the perpetrator of the local robbery, including a black hooded sweatshirt, gloves and white sneakers.

Police also compared Gallella's booking photograph with surveillance footage from the local robbery and determined it was him on the tape, according to the report.

Local officers reportedly went to the Essex House of Correction to interview Gallella and he declined their request. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
