Stoneham Man Had Sawed-Off Shotgun, Handgun, Knives: Police

STONEHAM, MA — A Stoneham man faces several weapons charges after being pulled over with a sawed-off shotgun, among other things, police said. Joshua McGann, 30, was arrested late Thursday afternoon for after an officer who knew he had an arrest arrant out for shoplifting spotted him.
Police said McGann refused to exit his truck until the officer opened the door for him, and when he did he reached for his waistline and acted suspiciously. The officer then found two knives on him and a fully loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun in his front pocket along with a loaded magazine in his other pocket. The officer then found a sawed-off shotgun in a backpack in his truck, police said.

McGann was charged with possession of a sawed-off shotgun, carrying a dangerous weapon, two counts of carrying a loaded firearm without a license and two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition.
He was scheduled to be arraigned in Woburn District Court Friday morning.
