Stoneham Man Injured in Crash, Rollover on 128

Joseph Lupo of Stoneham suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to State Police.

A Stoneham man was one of two adults and two children injured in car crash Friday night on Route 128 in Waltham.

Yamel Jimenez, 26, of Marlborough, was driving a 2009 Honda Civic at around 8:30 p.m. when for unknown reasons she lost control of her vehicle near Exit 27 in Waltham, according to State Police, who responded to the crash. Jimenez’s car then struck a 2010 Ford Explorer traveling in the far left lane operated by Joseph Lupo, 36, of Stoneham.

"After the impact, the Explorer struck a jersey barrier and rolled over landing on the guardrail" said a State Police release. There were two girls, ages 4 and 8, who were passengers in the Honda.

According to a doctor who arrived at the scene, the occupants of the Civic suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Jimenez was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital while the two minors were taken to Children’s Hospital by ambulance. Lupo was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton with minor injuries.

State Police cleared the scene by 11:30 p.m. No charges have been filed, according to State Police.
