Andrew Guilfoyle, who lived in the 233 Revere Street home where the party was, and Jared Damelio, a guest, are both charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. They are expected to be arraigned in East Boston Municipal Court on Tuesday.
Officials say preliminary evidence shows the victim was involved in a fistfight at one point in the night. The man was thought to have left after that fight, only to return with an unarmed group after midnight.

A fight broke out again, and Damelio allegedly struck the victim in the head with a baton. He then told Guilfoyle to "get the gun," according to officials. Guilfoyle then allegedly got a rifle he legally owned and struck the victim in the upper abdomen with his only shot.
The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries; He had surgery there.
Winthrop Police recovered the rifle at the scene. Guilfoyle allegedly admitted to owning and using the rifle in the incident.
