Stoneham Police Department To Recognize Autism Awareness Month

Police officers will wear autism awareness patches and sell patches to benefit the nonprofit "Light It Up Blue."

STONEHAM, MA — Officers from the Stoneham Police Department will wear autism awareness patches on their uniforms in April as part of Autism Awareness Month. National Autism Awareness Month represents an opportunity to promote autism awareness and acceptance and to draw attention to the thousands diagnosed with autism each year.

Stoneham Police Department autism awareness patches are now being sold at the police station dispatch window at 47 Central St. for $10. A check may also be written to PSOA to Erin Sinclair, 47 Central St., Stoneham, MA 02180 (please enclose return address information).

All proceeds raised will be donated to "Light it Up Blue," a nonprofit organization in Stoneham committed to raising awareness and acceptance for children with autism.
