Stoneham Police Log: Tewksbury Man Arrested, Charged With Assault and Battery

Oct. 16

@9:15 a.m.: Police called to Montvale Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle that was broken into. Police to investigate incident.

@10:50 a.m.: Police respond to Warren Street on a report of possible vandalism to property; however, officer notes it's just kids ringing the doorbell and running.

@1:57 p.m.: Police called to Montvale Avenue for a report of past hit-and-run damage to a vehicle. The driver's side rear bumper was damaged. Police to investigate incident.

@8:52 p.m.: Police called to Alden Avenue for a report of a noise complaint. Loud construction noise reportedly came from a residence on the street, and after police spoke with the homeowner they agreed to stop work for the evening.

Oct. 17

@12:52 p.m.: Police called to Elm Street for a report of an unauthorized Web site opened using the homeowner's information. Police to investigate matter.

@1:45 p.m.: Police respond to the New South Street and Woodland Road area on a report of a motor vehicle accident. State Police were contacted. No one was transported to hospitals for further medical evaluation.

@5:35 p.m.: Police called to Crescent Avenue for a report of an out of control woman. Police arrested Marianne Ciavardone, 28, of 8 Crescent St., Stoneham, charging her with assault and battery.

@6:38 p.m.: Police contacted about a storm drain washed out, creating a large hole in the area of Pond and Walnut Streets. DPW callman notified of the problem.

@11:49 p.m.: Police respond to Keith Lane on a report of a possible assault. John Nowell, 32, of 5 Dirlaw Circle, Tewksbury, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and destruction of property over $250. He was transfered by State Police, while the alleged victim was transported to .

Oct. 18

@12:45 p.m.: Police respond to Washington Street for a report of a utility pole struck by a vehicle that fled the area heading south. The suspect vehicle could not be located. NSTAR notified about the damage to the pole.

@3:17 p.m.: Police called to the area of for a report of a woman's vehilce struck while parked sometime between 2:30-3:18 p.m. Police to investigate incident.

@5:24 p.m.: Police arrested John Bowden, 41, of 544 Main St., Stoneham, on outstanding warrants charging him with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and possession of a burglarious instrument.
