STONEHAM, MA — Stoneham police officials are actively searching for a suspect believed to be involved in an attempted armed robbery at the Spot Pond mobil gas station on South Street Wednesday morning. Police say that the suspected entered the store with an object believed to be either a knife or screwdriver and demanded money from the clerk.
The clerk was able to push the panic alarm and the suspect fled the store south on Main Street. Police say no one was injured.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40's, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build, gray facial hair and an obvious limp. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie, gray sweatpants and black sneakers, and driving an older model gray sedan that is missing the front passenger side hubcap, according to police.
