Stoneham’s Mike Gentile honored by Cummings Properties

Gentile is the fourth employee to serve for four decades.

A release from Cummings Properties:

Stoneham resident Mike Gentile was celebrated by his colleagues on Oct. 18, 40 years to the day he started working at Cummings Properties. He is the fourth employee to reach the four-decade milestone at the 48-year-old commercial real estate firm.

Gentile, a painter, has contributed his skills to many Cummings buildings throughout the years, including the West Cummings Park midrises when they were initially constructed. Currently, he is spending a great deal of time in his hometown, playing a key role in the top-to-bottom rehab of 92 Montvale Avenue.

Gentile is perhaps best-known for his service on Cummings Properties’ “Snow Team,” which is called upon several times each winter to ensure that the company’s many parking lots are always clear and accessible for leasing clients and their visitors. His history with this crew was the inspiration for a commemorative gift: a refurbished vintage door from one of the Sicard snow-blowing machines that Gentile has operated countless times over the years.

“I loved it—it’s awesome!” said Gentile of the unique item, which he reported will soon hang in a place of honor at his second home, in Maine.
