Stoneham School Building Committee Meets June 17
Residents invited to listen, learn, comment as town moves along toward a new high school.
A release from the Stoneham School Building Committee:
The Stoneham School Building Committee(SSBC) is beginning work on the next, important steps toward a new school environment for our future high schoolers, thanks to the voters who approved the expenditure of funds for the required Feasibility study at the May Town Meeting. At the May SSBC meeting, Committee members established sub-committees for specific tasks and then toured all areas of the high school.
The next meeting of the Committee will be held at Central Middle School in the Media Center (2nd floor) on Monday, June 17, beginning at 7 p.m. The Committee will hear from several members who were recently invited to participate in a “School of the Future” charette, during which they participated in discussion with two other school districts and created and presented their concepts of what a new or renovated building might look like in Stoneham. Superintendent Macero reported that the charette was exciting, fun and sparked countless ideas among those participating.
