In a community collaboration between Stoneham Public Schools, New York Life and Stoneham Coalition for a Safe & Helathy Community, Stoneham Schools are now recognized as “Grief Sensitive Schools". The Grief Sensitive Schools Initiative (GSSI) from New York Life recognizes accredited K-12 public or private institutions that commit to providing a supportive environment for students who have experienced the death of a loved one. Presentations to school staff on key bereavement resources were led by New York Life ambassador Keith Antifonario and coordinated by The Stoneham Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Community to support the emotional well-being of Stoneham youth.

Thank you to New York Life who awarded each Stoneham Public School with a $500 grant, totaling in $2500 to help enhance grief support and resources in Stoneham schools.
