Stoneham Sports Roundup: Sept. 26 - Oct. 2

A look at all the Stoneham High School sports action from the past week.

The football team drew first blood, but couldn’t withstand a late surge by Winchester on Oct. 1 and fell 28-14 against the Sachems on Oct. 1. Paul Delorfano pulled down a 7-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Cann in the second quarter to give the Spartans a 7-0 lead, but a pair of scores by Winchester’s Joe Ntege trumped Eric DeMario’s 21-yard TD reception from Cann in the third and the Sachems added two more in the fourth to seal the deal. Stoneham is now 2-2 and will face Belmont on Oct. 6.
