Stoneham Boys To Face Tewksbury in MIAA Hockey Opener
Girls' get an early bye in Division 2 tournament.

Stoneham hockey fans have a busy week ahead after the MIAA released the tournament pairings Saturday.
The Stoneham High School boys earned the No. 2 seed in the Division 2 North hockey tournament and will face Tewksbury on Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Woburn. The girls earned the No. 8 seed in the Division 2 tournament and will play the winner of the preliminary round game between Norwell and Central Catholic.
The Spartan boys finished the regular season 14-4-2 and will face No. 15 seed Tewksbury, which went 10-8-2. Should Stoneham advance, the Spartans would play the winner of L-S vs. Pentucket in the quarterfinals. As for the girls, the top eight seeds all earned a bye. Stoneham girls finished the regular season 11-5-4.

Earlier Saturday the MIAA selected the field for the Super 8 tournament. This year's field by seed: 1. Central Catholic; 2. BC High; 3. St. John's Prep; 4. Hingham; 5. Andover; 6. Burlington; 7. Arlington; 8. St. John's (S); 9. St. Mary's; 10. Pope Francis.
Monday's play-in games at the Chelmsford Forum will be Pope Francis vs. defending Super 8 champion Arlington and St. John's (S) facing St. Mary's.
