StonehamBank Teams Up with Scholastic and Read with Malcolm

StonehamBank has donated 400 books to the Malden Elementary Schools.

StonehamBank has donated 400 books to the Malden Public Schools in partnership with Scholastic and Read with Malcolm.

StonehamBank recieved 400 copies of books to donate to the Malden elementary schools. In part of their mission to promote financial literacy and the power of reading, StonehamBank hopes Malden elementary students discover a passion for knowledge within the books they received.

“We are grateful for terrific community partners like StonehamBank who support our literacy and reading initiatives in Malden,” says Malden Superintendent John Oteri, “These 400 books will go to our students and help foster a lifelong love of reading and learning. We know that putting books into the hands of young readers increases their chances of success in later years.”

Along with the book donation, StonehamBank encourages students to participate in READBowl 19, a national reading competition where Pre-K through 8th grade classrooms across the country compete for the highest average in school minutes of reading. The READBowl starts on the day of the National College Football Championship (January 7th, 2019) and ends on Super Bowl Sunday (February 3rd, 2019).

The READBowl is a free reading program designed by Read with Malcolm. StonehamBank thanks Scholastic and Read with Malcolm for their continued support with their financial literacy initiative.
