'The Suffragists of Stoneham' on Stoneham TV Oct. 21
Historian Dee Morris will tell stories of the women in Stoneham who fought for the right to vote.
In 1877 Paulina Gerry of Stoneham presented a petition to the state legislature to grant women the right to vote. Fannie Allyn organized women in the shoe factories.
These and other stories will be told Wednesday evening, Oct. 21, on Stoneham TV as historian Dee Morris presents “Suffragists of Stoneham.”
The 7 p.m. program will run on Stoneham cable channels--Comcast 9, Verizon 34, and RCN 3. It is the first of two programs celebrating the Centennial of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote in America.

“We are grateful to Stoneham TV for making these important programs available to a wide audience,” said Stephen Rotundi, president of the Historical Society.
The second program is scheduled for Nov. 12, when historical actress Sheryl Faye will perform as Susan B. Anthony.
