In Support Of Dalton and Wallace For Stoneham School Committee

A Letter to the editor from Jeanne Craig:

It is my distinct honor to endorse Thomas Dalton and Jaime Wallace for Stoneham School Committee on April 3, 2018!

We teach our children to read, to think and to be lifelong learners . Both Thomas and Jaime, Stoneham-educated, embody all of these characteristics and have learned the motto that has adorned our Schools... “Enter to learn / Go forth to serve!”

Thomas is ready to serve. He has mastered the needs and wants of students and advocated enthusiastically as a member of your Finance Board!

Jaime has demonstrated incredible stamina in advocating on the PTO and collaborating with all Schools to being needed programs into our schools! Moveover, Jaime understands our budget and understands our curriculum.

I personally met with three of the candidates. They asked for my advice, counsel and wisdom!

I told each one, quite emphatically, that I would not commit until they proved to me they could take on the arduous task ahead! I advised them that it was easy to step over the line but that the campaign would be a true test of dedication, hard work and articulating a platform! They should run for the seat not against the candidate in opposition; they should work hard and thoroughly understand their role with the community and for the children! They are the first line of defense and best advocates for the children! ALL the children; for every child is unique, every child matters and every child deserves a free and public education for the 21st century!

The final point I wish to convey is the role and relationship of the School Committee with the community!

Members of the Committee set the policy. They are NOT the educators! They guide decisions, but they do not drive the data, only keeping a good grasp on it! Data shows only one piece … Stoneham has always been blessed with educators that look at the whole child ... all needs, all levels, and always striving to be better!

I ask you to cast your two votes for these two candidates, who I believe will serve you well and serve the children with every ounce of good they have! I have watched them grow. Now I wish to see them lead!

Thomas Dalton and Jaime Wallace, let’s bring this home with the help of every voter!
