Target Announces Plans for Store in Stoneham

The store will be Target's fourth flexible-format store in the greater Boston area.

STONEHAM, MA — Stoneham could soon be home to a big box retailer, as Target has announced plans to open a flexible-format store there. According to an announcement Tuesday, the store will be located in the Redstone Shopping Center at 109 Main St.

The store will be Target's fourth flexible-format store in the greater Boston area. According to Target, a flexible-format store allows for stores in smaller locations with assortments tailored for local guests.

“We look forward to serving even more guests in the greater Boston area with the addition of Target’s July 2017 Stoneham store at Redstone Shopping Center,” Mark Schindele, Target's senior vice president of properties, said in a statement. “We think the community will enjoy the convenient shopping experience with a broad, unique product assortment that only Target can provide.”

The store is set to cover 48,000 square feet and will include the following highlights:

  • A curated assortment of kids’ and baby care products, as well as toys
  • Men’s and women’s apparel and accessories
  • A selection of fresh groceries for the fill-in trip or weekly stock-up, as well as grab-and-go items
  • Curated home assortment
  • An assortment of health, personal care and beauty products
  • Portable technology products and entertainment accessories
  • Services include Target Mobile and Order Pickup

The store is currently projected to open in July of 2017. Redstone Shopping Center was not immediately available for comment.
