STONEHAM, MA — Three Revere teens who allegedly were trying to break into a pickup truck on Bonad Road were arrested Tuesday evening with an assist from a Melrose K-9.

Police responded around 8:38 p.m. to a report of a break-in. The resident who owned the vehicle told police he was in his home when he saw someone enter his pickup truck, so he called police and took off in pursuit of the suspect. The man also said two men inside another gray vehicle drove off when he began to follow the suspect who was driving his truck.

The suspect driving the truck, later identified as 19-year-old Michael DiCologero, fled so fast his sandals fell off, leaving him to run through snowy backyards with only socks on. A Melrose Police Department K-9 unit assisted Stoneham and Reading police officers in the search.
