Two Injured in Single-Car Crash Near Stoneham Senior Center
The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported via Boston MedFlight to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center early Saturday morning, according to police.

Two people were injured—one critically—in a single-car crash near early Saturday morning, according to police.
At 2:02 a.m., Stoneham Police responded to Elm Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident. The driver of a Chevy Camaro sustained life-threatening injuries, while his passenger was injured but did not suffer serious injuries, according to Lt. Jim McIntyre.
"The vehicle was traveling westbound on Elm Street, when the driver lost control and struck a utility pole, spun between the pole and the (Senior Center) sign and came to a rest on the Senior Center lawn," McIntyre said.

The driver was extracted from the Camaro and transported via Boston MedFlight from Broadway Field to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, according to McIntyre.
Meanwhile, the passenger was taken to Lahey Clinic for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries, according to McIntyre.

McIntyre said speeding was "definitely a factor" in the crash, but he could not comment on whether alcohol played a role in it, as the investigation is ongoing. It's unclear whether the two injured parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
State Police assisted with the reconstructon of the accident scene. The scene was clear by 6:26 a.m., according to McIntyre.
No arrests have been made, according to McIntyre.
