When Does School Start in Stoneham?
Here's a look at some important dates on the Stoneham Public Schools calendar, and some other helpful back-to-school tips for parents.
STONEHAM, MA — Parents, you've almost survived the summer. All Stoneham students will be back in school by Aug. 31. The return is immediately followed by another break, with no school Fri., Sept. 2 or Mon., Sept. 5 (Labor Day).

Stoneham students will be released early on both Oct. 7 and Nov. 2 for professional development. Grade 9-12 conferences will be held on Nov. 1 and Grade PK-8 conferences will be held on Dec. 7 and 8.
Gone are the days of Labor Day marking the start of the school season. Tell the kids not to complain - many schools across the country start before the end of August, and some even in July, according to CNN. And parents, no complaining from you either - some schools don't welcome back students until well into September.
