Your Listening To Delilah: Legendary Radio Host Visits Boston

Delilah Rene Luke, known professionally as 'Delilah' has been sharing stories and songs on national radio for over 40 years.

BOSTON, MA- On Wednesday, Delilah Rene Luke, known professionally as simply Delilah, began her three-day Boston visit with an intimate conversation-style seminar exclusively for special guests of Audacy and Delilah herself. She spent about an hour talking about her entire career in radio, relating to herself as having the ‘show-off gene’ but not any further talents, leaving her to radio. From growing up in Bend, Oregon; to landing her first gig in Needham, Mass; she found enjoyment in adapting to the mixed culture. Following her portion of the conversation, the beloved radio host answered some of the audience questions. Through this part of the evening, she reconnected with friends from decades past, and was primarily asked about her struggles in life. Having gone through three marriages and being a mother to fifteen children, three which were tragically lost at young ages, she certainly has life experience in facing challenging times. When asked how she was able to move on after all of these hurdles to continue to host the nightly show in such a positive light, she credited her Christian faith. Coming from a family absent from any sort of religion, she initially was very isolated from her idea. However, after losing her closest brother on a tragic plane crash, she came to reality with the forceful advice he continued to push to her: to find faith and hold it close. She said “it is this assurance, this faith that I will be reunited with those I dearly love” that not only keeps her going to make the most of this life, but also to eliminate fear of death and hold comfort of moving to the next life. On a brighter side, she also discussed her experiences meeting national celebrities such as Lionel Richie and Cher. She left with a message for those in the audience and beyond: “Know your worth, and find a place that accepts that in you”. More info about Delilah and her show can be found at her website.
