$400k Grant to Help Stoughton Upgrade Central Street Sidewalks
The funds will be used to provide safer travel for walkers, bike riders, and drivers.

STOUGHTON, MA — The sidewalks of Central Street street will be getting an upgrade soon thanks to a grand from the state Department of Transportation.
The town recently received a $400,000 grant, becoming the first town in the state to do so under the state's new Complete Streets program, according to the Boston Globe. The program gives town incentives for creating policies that provide safe access for all modes of transportation.
The funds will be used to construct uninterrupted pedestrian access from Cobb Corner to Turnpike Road, along with crosswalk painting, pedestrian ramps, and pavement markings for bikes and vehicles.
