Afternoon Edition: A Final Salute for James Callanan

WANNA BE A MOVIE STAR? You ready to be the next movie star to come from the Boston area? Maybe you’re the next Ben Affleck?  There’s an open casting call for the film “Here Comes the Boom” starring Kevin James.   They are looking for people of all types (ages 18 and up) to be extras on the film that is shooting late March to early June.  There are two casting calls that are not far from Stoughton.  Make sure to bring a photo!  Saturday March 5 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Kennedy Center, 440 E. Squantum Street in Quincy.  And, the other Saturday March 26, from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at South Shore Casting Studio, Hanover Mall, 1775 Washington Street in Hanover. Good luck. HEY KIDS, INTERESTED IN POLICE WORK?  It's that time, again!  The 10th Annual Police Explorers Junior Academy is coming up soon.  Stoughton Police Executive Officer Robert Devine says that an orientation night will take place on March 15 at Stoughton Police headquarters on Rose Street, starting at 5:30 p.m. You will learn what it takes to be part of the law enforcement community, and learn crucial life skills that are a key to a stronger you, according to Devine. 

Eligible applicants must be from 13-20 years old.  The Academy will we held on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 5:30 p.m., starting March 30, for ten weeks. Any questions can be directed to XO Devine through email (rdevine@stoughton-ma.gov) or phone (781-344-2424).

ATTENTION STOUGHTON BUSINESS OWNERS: All businesses located in the Town of Stoughton are required each year under Massachusetts General Law , Chapter 59, Section 29, to file with the Assessors’ Office by March 1 of each year, a complete “FORM OF LIST” or return of personal property subject to taxation.  This form should be filed by all Individuals, Partnerships, Associations or Trusts, Corporations, Limited Liability Companies and Other Legal Entities subject to taxation in this Town.  If you have not already filed by March 1, 2011, contact the Assessors’ Office for a form at 781-341-1300.
