• Stoughton TJ Maxx Larceny Suspect Sought By Police (patch.com) — Stoughton police are asking residents to help identify a suspect in an Aug. 24 larceny at the TJ Maxx on Park Street, sharing photos and a description of the individual's clothing, hair, and tattoos. Community members with any information are urged to call the department or send a private message through its social media page.
   

• Judge weighs final rulings ahead of start of Farwell trial next month (nbcboston.com) — A federal judge is finalizing key rulings before next month's trial of former Stoughton police detective Matthew Farwell, who's accused of killing Sandra Birchmore and staging her death as a suicide. With Stoughton police already under scrutiny for earlier inappropriate relationships with Birchmore, residents can expect weeks of testimony from dozens of witnesses when the trial begins October 5.
