Break-In Witness Detains Suspect for Stoughton Police
A local resident took matters into his own hand after seeing a person allegedly break into a vehicle.
STOUGHTON, MA — A man who saw a man breaking into cars at an apartment complex across from Stoughton High School didn't just say something to police, but took matters into his own hands too.
Wednesday night, police responded to a report of vehicle break-ins at Presidential Courts apartments. At the scene, police learned that the witness detained the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Scott Wedge of Stoughton, police interim Lt. John Bonney told the Enterprise.
Police way Wedge broke into one car and took earrings and change. He faces a charge of breaking into a motor vehicle during the nighttime with intent to commit a felony.
