Captains Lead Stoughton High Baseball Team to Victory
Captains Brian Kaplan, Mike Connelly and Pat Jackman took charge in Stoughton's 4-2 win at King Philip on Friday.

The was in action Friday afternoon, when they traveled to King Philip for a rematch with the Warriors, a team that beat the Knights in Stoughton on . This time, Stoughton was able to escape King Philip with a 4-2 win.
The Knights started off the game scoring runs in both the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead with big hits by junior captain Pat Jackman.
In the fourth, junior captain Mike Connelly, a left-handed hitter, crushed a home run to right field, that would be considered a "bomb" even by Major League standards.

The Knights received a strong pitching performance from senior captain Brian Kaplan. He pitched all seven innings, allowing only two runs, both scored during a mini King Philip rally in the seventh that came up short.
Kaplan's victory marks Stoughton's seventh of the season, bringing the team's record to 7-8.

After the game Connelly, the team's catcher, stated, "Good job by Brian today. He made my job very easy by executing his pitches and putting the ball right where I called for it. Today was a big game against a team pretty even matchup wise with us and I think we went out and played well."
Jackman added, "Today is the kind of game we need to play every time out. We hit well, we pitched well and we played defense well. Nothing or no one is going to stop us if we can continue to play like we did today."
The Knights will be back in action Monday when they host Oliver Ames.
