Counterfeit $100 Bills Used In At Least 13 South Shore Towns: PD

The fake $100 bills were used in at least 13 other communities south of Boston, police said.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, MA — Police are investigating after reports of counterfeit $100 bills being used in over a dozens South Shore communities.

The investigation began on Feb. 7 after the fake bills, all of which had the same serial number “A08225971A,” were used at a Dunkin Donuts, CVS, and two liquor stores all in the same day. The $100 bills with that same serial number were also discovered at stores in 13 other communities South of Boston, including Bridgewater, Taunton, and Raynham, according to police.

Police released pictures of two suspects. After reviewing security footage at the four West Bridgewater locations, police said one of the two suspects was spotted at every location.
