Investigators Believe Missing Stoughton Man Died Near Home

The remains of Ilya Lastovkin were found on Aug. 13 in a wooded area near his home.

It is believed that Stoughton resident Ilya Lastovkin, who went missing in 2009, died near his home.

David Traub, a spokesman for Norfolk County District Attorney’s office, told the Enterprise that the available evidence suggests that he died in a wooded area near Memorial Drive and Simpson Street.

On Thursday, a person discovered human remains in the area, including a jawbone. A comparison of dental records confirmed that the remains belonged to Lastovkin.
