Second Neglected, Malnourished Dog Found In Coventry

COVENTRY, RI — Animal control were called again to Woodland Drive Monday morning for a second neglected and malnourished and dog found running loose.

The caller was a South Carolina resident who first reported the female Pit Bull running alone and hurt on Nooseneck Hill Road. Although the dog was alone, Coventry police believe this dog is connected to another malnourished dog found Saturday night that had to be put down.

The dog was rushed to a local animal hospital for treatment, and now, Coventry Animal Control are providing care for her at its shelter.

The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is offering a $1000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of any suspects. Animal shelter Handsome Dan's Rescue has also pledged $500 adding to the RISPCA reward for information.
