Stoughton Bicyclist Killed In Route 138 Crash

A Stoughton man died Wednesday morning after being struck by a car on Route 138.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton bicyclist died Wednesday morning after being struck by a car on Route 138, officials said.

Police responded just after 5 a.m. to the area of 1378 Washington St., also known as Route 138, after a 911 call reported that a bicyclist had been hit by a motor vehicle, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey.

Officers found Mark Salvador, 39, of Stoughton, on the ground when they arrived. Salvador was taken by Stoughton ambulance to a Boston hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, Morrissey said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and Stoughton police.

No further information was being released Wednesday morning.
