Stoughton Drunken Rollover Crash Was Few Feet From Home: Cops
Matthew Taylor, 27, was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Canton man who was allegedly driving while drunk nearly crashed into a home on Canton Street, police allege.
Matthew Taylor, 27, was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was arraigned later in the day at Stoughton District Court and ordered held on $300 cash bail.
At about 12:02 a.m., police responded to a report of a truck that collided with a house, according to a police report. At the scene, officers found a truck that was rolled over on the front lawn of a Canton Street home and was only a few feet from the house. The driver, identified as Taylor, was helped out of the truck by police.

Taylor initially said he did not know who was driving the vehicle, allegedly telling police that he was drinking with an unknown man in Middleboro when the two decided to go home. He then admitted to driving the vehicle when police questioned his story.
Taylor admitted to drinking six beers about an hour and a half prior in the woods near Central Street. He was taken into custody following failed sobriety tests.

He is due back in court Dec. 20 for a pre-trial hearing.
