Gallery: Stoughton High Track Teams Post Victories Over Sharon

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' teams both have continued success, defeating Sharon Tuesday at home. Take a look at photos from the meet in the media gallery.

Both Stoughton High outdoor track teams in the spring season, with the boys’ and girls’ teams beating Sharon Tuesday afternoon at home.

The Stoughton boys, led by Aaron Mack, Brandon Alves and Steffan Jackson, beat Sharon, 84-52. Meanwhile, the Stoughton girls, led by Jade Paul and Julia Quattrucci, beat the Eagles 76-60.

On the boys’ side, Aaron Mack won the 100-meter event (11.3 seconds) and the long jump (19’11”). Alves won the shot put (44’11”) and discus (108’1”). Jackson won the 400-meter hurdles (62.5 seconds) and the 100-meter high hurdles (15.8 seconds).

Nick Green won the 800-meter event in 2:07.2 and Samir Sofi won the high jump (5’6”). Also turning in a first-place finish was the 4 x 100 relay team of Aaron Mack, Marcus Middleton, Matthew Mack and Lennox Green.

Second place finishes included: Wayne Barnaby in the 2-mile; Kevin Lucas in the shot put; Alex Green in the discus; Andrew Kelly in the high jump; Baugh in the long jump; Green in the mile; Sofi in the 400-meter; and Aaron Mack in the triple jump.

Third place finishes included: Marcus Middleton in the 100-meter event; Kevin McDonald in the 400-meter hurdles and 100-meter high hurdles; Lennox Green in the 400-meter; Jack D'Addieco in the shot put; Ben Cromwell in the discus; Marty Petrie in the javelin; and Matthew Mack in the triple jump.

The Stoughton boys scored in every event except the 4 x 400 relay, coach Harvey Blonder said. 

On the girls' side, in the 400-meter event MacKenzie Hudson came in second and Julia Quattrucci came in third. 

In the 100-yard dash Alicia Macomber came in second and Brittany Joyce came in third.

Kerry O'Neil came in second and Rachel Berkowsky came in 4th in the mile. Deirdre Simms came in second and Amy Kelly came in third in the 2-mile.

Jade Paul won the 400-meter event, followed by freshman Kelly Barros.

The Stoughton trio of Alicia Macomber, Kelly Collins and Leesa Snyder swept the 100-meter hurdles event, coming in first, second and third, respectively. Snyder competed in four events despite having a sore ankle, also coming in third in the triple jump.

Jade Paul came back and won the 200-meter event. She also finished finished second in the high jump and third in the long jump. 

Julia Quattrucci won the javlin and her sister Emily finished second. Ariene Ohimor won the discus and finished second to her teammate Chrystal Holland in the shot put.

Julia Quattrucci finished first and Ariene Ohimor came in second the discus. 

"What a show of dedication these young ladies have for their team," Coach Bob Clarke said. "They just don't want to let their teammates down, and I'm so proud to be their coach."
