Stoughton HS Grad Turned Terrorist Killed in Iraq

Ahmad Abousamra, 33, is understood to have died in an airstrike.

A Stoughton High School graduate turned terrorist has apparently been killed while fighting for the Islamic State in Iraq.

Ahmad Abousamra, 33, is reportedly dead after an airstrike by Iraqi warplanes in the west of the largely ISIS-held province of Anbar according to the Daily Mail.

Abousamra, a 1999 graduate of Stoughton High School, fled the country in 2006. He was placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list in late 2013, having been indicted for allegedly attempting to obtain military training during trips to Pakistan and Yemen; a reward of $50,000 for information leading to his capture was issued in October 2012.

Abousamra reportedly attended Xaverian for three years before transferring to Stoughton High School his senior year and was a resident of Mansfield at the time he left United States.

Last year, it was reported that Abousamra was possibly helping the Islamic State.
