Stoughton Man Accused Of Robbing Attleboro Bank
Steven Cerqueira, 36, of Stoughton, who was charged with robbing a Middleborough bank, also robbed a bank in Attleboro, police said.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man charged with robbing a Middleborough bank will also face charges after police said he also robbed a bank in Attleboro. Steven Cerqueira, 36, was arrested Monday after turning himself in at the Stoughton Police Department. He was charged with unarmed robbery, but more charges are forthcoming from the Attleboro incident.
According to Attleboro police, Cerqueira robbed the Santander Bank on Park Street Saturday afternoon. Police said a man, later identified as Cerqueira, approached the bank teller and passed a note demanding money. No weapon was shown and no one was reported injured.
After robbing the bank, Cerqueira ran away, but his image was caught on surveillance camera and sent out via social media, police said. Cerqueira was last seen on Bank Street toward Sanford Street before turning himself in at the Stoughton Police Department.

Attleboro police were withholding releasing the amount of money stolen in the Santander robbery pending the investigation.
Around 12:30 p.m. Nov. 9, Middleborough police were called to the Santander Bank at 77 Center St. for a report of a bank robbery. Police said Cerqueira came into the bank, passed a note to the teller and demanded money.

Cerqueira left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police. No injuries were reported.
Cerqueira was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Wareham District Court.
