Stoughton Names Martin McNamara New Human Resources Director

Martin McNamara of Clinton, MA has been selected to be the first Human Resources Director for the town. He begins Monday, February 7.

Martin H. McNamara of Clinton, Massachusetts has been selected to be the first Human Resources Director for the Town of Stoughton. McNamara, a native of Clinton Massachusetts was most recently the Director of Human Resources at the Weetabix Food Company, Inc. in Clinton, MA serving 11 years in that capacity according to Stoughton Town Manager, Francis T. Crimmins, Jr..  

Crimmins stated that he is very excited to have McNamara accept this position as there is a critical need for a Human Resources Director in the Town.  One of the first assignments that McNamara will have will be the task of selecting a new Town Planner, a Director of Assessing and a new Building Commissioner, according to Crimmins.

McNamara has over 20 years experience in collective bargaining issues, human relations, financial management as well as the development and administration of policies and procedures. He worked a number of years for other major corporations including the General Motors Corporation in Framingham, Massachusetts; the Wonder Hostess Bakery in Natick; Massachusetts and the Hamptons Shyer Chemical Corporation in Nashua, New Hampshire. He successfully negotiated numerous collective-bargaining agreements with various unions in the private sector including United Autoworkers, United Food and Commercial Workers, Teamsters Chemical Workers and Bakery Workers.

In addition, McNamara has substantial experience in municipal government and community affairs having served in the following capacities in the Town of Clinton: former member of the Board of Selectmen, former member of the Finance Committee, former member of the Personnel Board and a former member of the Fire Station Building Committee. In addition to serving in those capacities for the Town of Clinton he has been a member of the Board of Directors of W.H.E.A.T Social Service Agency as well as a member of the Board of Corporators of the Clinton Savings Bank.
