Stoughton Police Chief's Last Day is Friday
The Stoughton Police Department announced Wednesday afternoon that Police Chief Paul Shastany's final day will be March 4.

STOUGHTON, MA - Police Chief Paul Shastany will end his tenure Stoughton's top cop this week.
The Stoughton Police Department announced Wednesday afternoon that Shastany's final day will be March 4.
"The members of this department would like to wish the Chief a very happy and healthy retirement. The Chief has laid a foundation of strength, stability, and leadership. We have been groomed to become the model for proactive approaches to the latest in police practices. Thank you Chief Shastany. We can not say we won't be the same without you, we won't be the same because of you," the police department wrote on Facebook.

Last month, Shastany surprised the town when he announced his retirement in an email to the selectmen. The following day several residents spoke in support of the police chief during a selectmen meeting, with the board taking a symbolic vote to reject Shastany's resignation.
