Boy Killed In Stoughton Shooting; 2 Suspects At Large

Christian Vines, 17, was shot and killed outside the Walnut Park condominium complex in Stoughton. Police are looking for two suspects.

STOUGHTON, MA — A 17-year-old Randolph boy was shot and killed on Jones Terrace Tuesday afternoon, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office. Police said they are searching for two suspects following the shooting outside a condominium complex.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said police were called to the Walnut Park complex around 3 p.m. When officers arrived, residents directed them to a silver Honda in the parking lot, where police found Christian Vines suffering from gunshot wounds.

Stoughton police said Vines was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Stoughton police Chief Donna McNamara said the teen was likely targeted in the shooting.

Morrissey said witnesses saw two people run away after the shooting behind the apartment building. Massachusetts State Police and a K-9 unit were called to the area to assist local officers in searching for potential suspects.

The Jones School was placed under lockdown and police officers were assigned to the building. Police lifted the lockdown around 4:35 p.m.

"While there is no connection of the crime or threat to the school we are not taking any chances," police Lt. John Bonney said in a statement.

Residents were asked to avoid the area. Traffic was not allowed in or out of Jones Terrace.
