Stoughton In Process Of Becoming "Age Friendly Community"
According to Council on Aging Director Karen MacDonald, there is a possibility for grant money if the town becomes certified.

STOUGHTON, MA — The Council on Aging is in the process of working towards Stoughton becoming an AARP certified "Age Friendly" community.
According to Council on Aging Director Karen MacDonald, there is a possibility for grant money if the town becomes certified.
The AARP has eight domains of livability it considers crucial for a community to be "Age Friendly." The domains include outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, social participation, respect and social inclusion, civic participation and employment, communication and information, and community and health services.

MacDonad said this is most likely a two to five year process. A meeting is scheduled for June 21 to start figuring out what's needed to start this process.
