Stoughton’s Asack, Jacobs Earning Collegiate Field Hockey Honors

Emily Asack (Wheaton College) and Megan Jacobs (Fitchburg State), two former Stoughton High Varsity field hockey players, cap their collegiate field hockey careers as their respective school's all-time scoring leaders.

Two former varsity field hockey players are earning accolades at the collegiate level.

Wheaton College’s Emily Asack (SHS ’08) and Fitchburg State’s Megan Jacobs (SHS ’07) were both named to their conference all-star teams and Division 3 all-region teams, and both were selected to participate in the 2011 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game.

Asack, a senior at Wheaton College, led her team with 38 points on the season (16 goals and 6 assists). She has led Wheaton in scoring for two of the last three seasons and ranks first in program history in points and second in program history in goals scored. She’s tied for fifth in all-time assists.

She was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First Team and the 2011 Longstreth / NFHCA Division III All Region First Team (New England East Region).

Meanwhile, Jacobs, a senior at Fitchburg State, led her team with 50 points this season (22 goals and 6 assists).

She has been a key player for Fitchburg since her freshman year, and has “smashed the Falcon record books,” totaling 135 career points with 55 goals scored and 25 assists, according to the Fitchburg State Athletics Website.  She is first in career points and goals scored and third all-time in assists.

Jacobs was named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) First Team and the 2011 Longstreth / NFHCA Division III All Region First Team (New England West Region).

Both were invited to take part in the 2011 NFHCA Division 3 Senior Game, which took place Saturday, November 19 at Nichols College in Dudley, MA.
