“This year, with the expansion of the program into other regions of the country, including New England, we hope to collect even more cold-weather clothing for those in need. That would certainly make it a merrier holiday for all of us,” Dennis Ratner, Hair Cuttery Founder and CEO, said.
Hair Cuttery has begun collecting gently used coats, jackets, hats, scarves or mittens at all of its 44 New England salons, including the Stoughton salon, located at 417 Washington St.
Collections will end January 1, 2012.
The transportation and delivery of the winter gear will be handled in collaboration with the United States Army. All collected items will be delivered to local missions and homeless shelters, and a variety of non-profits serving the needy, such as: St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Salvation Army and Cradles to Crayons.
Hair Cuttery has an established legacy of charitable giving. The company supports a number of national and local causes, including: Dress for Success, American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, Buzzing 4 Change, National Kidney Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Locks of Love.
