Stoughton Teen Convicted For Crash Killing 4 Teens

A Stoughton teen was found guilty of vehicular homicide in the crash that killed Eryck Sarblah, David Bell, Nick Joyce and Christoper Desir.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton teen was found guilty of vehicular homicide for 2018 crash that killed his four passengers, all students from Stoughton High School. Naiquan Hamilton, 19, was convicted of four counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a statement. He was found not guilty of four counts of manslaughter by motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and four counts of motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of drugs.

In May 2018, Hamilton crashed his car into a tree on Route 106 in East Bridgewater, prosecutors said. Three of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth later died at Brockton Hospital. The victims were identified as Christoper Desir, 17, of Brockton, Eryck Sarblah, 17, Nicholas Joyce, 16, and David Bell, 17, all of Stoughton.

Hamilton was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton with serious injuries before he was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment.

"There were no winners in the courtroom today," Cruz said in the statement. "Four lives were cut short before they ever began. They were not Mr. Hamilton's to take."

Hamilton was scheduled for sentencing March 9.
