SUDBURY, MA — A portion of a main road through north Sudbury will soon shut down for more than a month for a construction project.

The area around Marlboro Road over Pantry Brook west of Haynes Road will shut down on Aug. 29 for about six weeks. During that time, town public works crews will replace a culvert under the road.

During the construction, a detour will take traffic south via either Morse Road or Concord Road and through the Sudbury town center.

"Message boards will be deployed over the next couple of days to familiarize the community with the closure information. Over the next few weeks, the contractor will be installing detour signs and covering them in anticipation of the closure," Sudbury said in an Aug. 16 bulletin.

Sudbury conducted a similar project last summer, closing a long stretch of Morse Road for a repaving project.
