Sudbury Announces State Primary Voting Details For September

Here's what to know about early voting, vote-by-mail and registration deadlines for the state primary election in early September.

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury has announced the details for the 2026 state primary election in early September, with early voting and vote-by-mail options beginning before Election Day.

Sudbury voters will be able to cast ballots for the state primary on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fairbank Community Center, located at 40 Fairbank Rd. All Sudbury precincts vote at that location, according to the Town Clerk's office.

Offices on the ballot include U.S. senator, governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer, auditor, representative in Congress for the Fifth District, Governor’s Councillor for the Third District, state senator for the Middlesex and Worcester District, state representative for the 13th Middlesex District, district attorney for the Northern District and Middlesex County register of probate, according to the clerk’s office.

Vote-by-mail ballots are also available for the primary. The deadline to request a mail ballot is Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. Voters who already requested ballots for “all elections” do not need to submit a new application, according to the clerk’s office.

Unenrolled voters requesting a mail ballot must specify which party ballot they want to receive or they will not receive a ballot, according to the clerk’s office.

In-person early voting will be held at the Town Clerk’s Office in Lower Town Hall, 322 Concord Road. The schedule is:

The last day to register to vote in the primary is Saturday, Aug. 22, at 5 p.m. Voters can register online or in person at Town Hall, according to the clerk’s office.
