SUDBURY, MA — Mosquito spraying is scheduled in several Sudbury neighborhoods Monday night.
The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project plans to use a truck-mounted aerosol sprayer between sunset and 11:30 p.m. to reduce mosquito populations, according to the Sudbury Health Department.
Spraying is planned near Country Village Lane, Austin Road, Barton Drive, Oakwood Avenue, Reeves Street, Pratt's Mill Road, Dutton Road and Evergreen Road. The full route will include additional streets.
Crews will apply Zenivex E4 at a rate of 1 ounce per acre. The pesticide has low toxicity and is classified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a reduced-risk product, according to the town.
Residents who see a spray truck approaching should go indoors briefly while the spray dissipates and close their windows to minimize exposure. Beekeepers do not need to take special precautions because spraying will begin after sunset.
