Do You Qualify For The Sudbury Senior Means Tested Exemption Program?

You may qualify for a tax break if you are 65 or older.

SUDBURY, MA—Thanks to the state's Session Laws, Chapter 169 of the Acts of 2012, and Chapter 10 of the Acts of 2016 Sudbury’sMeans Tested Senior Exemption program is in full swing.

Longtime Sudbury residents and property owners older than 54 who qualified for the Massachusetts State Income Tax Refundable Credit known as the Circuit Breaker (CY 2016) and meet all other requirements may qualify for the Sudbury Senior Means Tested Exemption Program.

Application packets for the upcoming fiscal year are currently available for pickup at the Assessor’s Office, 278 Old Sudbury Rd. Contact the office at 978-639-3393 if you'd like an application packet mailed out. It's also available online.

As explained in the announcement in the town manager's monthly newsletter, the Sudbury Senior Means Exemption Program adheres to a unique filing timeline, which is different from traditional exemption programs.

The filing deadline for this particular exemption program is Aug. 31, 2017.
