Eldridge Receives Sudbury Valley Trustees Distinguished Service Honor

"Environmental protection has always been a priority for me and my district."

SUDBURY, MA—State Senator Jamie Eldridge was recognized for his work on environmental conservation and protection by receiving the Sudbury Valley Trustees’ 2017 “Distinguished Service Award."

“I was honored to receive the Distinguished Public Service Award, and want to thank Sudbury Valley Trustees Executive Director Lisa Vernegaard for nominating me, and SVT for their dedication to conservation,” Senator Eldridge (D-Acton) said. “Environmental protection has always been a priority for me and my district, and I will continue to proudly advocate for open space and conservation land, increasing our renewable energy resources, and keeping our water safe and clean.”

As State Senator of the Middlesex and Worcester District, his territory includes Marlborough, Sudbury, Westborough, Northborough and Worcester. Among Eldridge's conservation successes in legislation is the passage of the creation of the Water Infrastructure Finance Commission, PACE legislation to make it easier for homeowners to install solar panels, and efforts to preserve funding for the Toxics Use Reduction Institute.
