Elevated Fire Risk Throughout Much of Massachusetts Tuesday, Wednesday
The warning comes in the midst of several massive fires and a brutal heatwave.

Weather conditions this week led to a high risk of fire, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a special weather advisory warning of elevated fire risk weather throughout the day for most of eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The warning is in effect on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday saw the latest in a string of high-alarm fires in Boston (the photos speak for themselves). A blaze on Cape Cod chewed up more than 100 acres and needed helicopters to be extinguished over the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, minimum relative humidity will drop to 30 percent Tuesday and Wednesday. When combined with the expected wind gusts of 20 miles per hour, this results in the elevated fire risk weather across large portions of the state and beyond.
