SUDBURY, MA — In July 2021, Jasmin Taliadouros held a grand opening celebration for her Sudbury business Infinity Medspa, attracting new customers and local officials for a ribbon cutting.

Although optimistic, it was a cautious event due to the still ongoing pandemic. Taliadouros had opened her medical spa right as coronavirus was beginning to rampage across the planet in 2020. She had to close the business for months, hoping for a relatively quick end to a disease that thrives on human-to-human contact.

At that July grand opening, Taliadouros told a reporter that she would know that she really made it through the pandemic if she accomplished a goal of holding a fundraiser to support Alzheimer's research.

In December, Taliadouros will host that fundraiser at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester. The event will feature guitar virtuoso Pavlo Simtikidis — known worldwide simply as Pavlo — and will benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

The fundraiser is a sign that Taliadouros' business has survived the worst of the pandemic, but it's also a cause that's close to her: Taliadouros lost her father to Alzheimer's, a so-far incurable form of dementia that creates severe memory loss and cognitive dysfunction.

"I know many people who are going through it or know of someone dear to their heart that has it," she said.

Taliadouros has another goal for the fundraiser: to make sure it sells out. Tickets went on sale in August, and Taliadouros wants all 2,300 seats at the Hanover taken. Pavlo and his band will play Mediterranean inspired folk music during the event — and there is a chance to meet with him and his musicians before the event.

Tickets for the Dec. 4 evening show start at $30. Find out more on the Hanover Theatre website.
