Halloween Fest Coming To Sudbury This Weekend
The Goodnow Library's Halloween celebration will coincide with the Oct. 31 holiday.

SUDBURY, MA — If you think there's a better place to be Halloween weekend than the Goodnow Library, you'd be dead wrong.
The Sudbury library will host Halloween Fest beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, offering kids and adults the chance to show off costumes and indulge in treats like cider and donuts. The festival, which will also feature a scarecrow contest, signals a return to more normal library activities after the pandemic, according to Director Esme Green.
"We are very excited to be able to reconnect with the community now that we are fully reopened. We're hoping for a fun event, and hope that everyone dresses in the Halloween spirit," Green said in a news release. "Thank you to the Sudbury Family Network and the Goodnow Library Foundation, who are generously co-sponsoring the open house."

If you can't wait until Saturday, the library will also host an all-ages Pumpkin Parade on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Kids can come dressed in costumes and collect treats from different spots around the Goodnow building.
The Saturday event will also mark the beginning of the Goodnow's "library of things" program, which will allow patrons to check out items like pressure washers, video game systems (and a ghost detector) just like checking out a book or DVD.
