Jennifer Wiles wins Batchelder Award

Sudbury resident wins Parmenter excellence award.

The Parmenter Board of Trustees’ Executive Committee is pleased to announce the winner of the Third Annual Joan S. Batchelder Staff Excellence Award, Jennifer Wiles – the Director of Camp Erin® Boston and HEART playsm, an award-winning Children’s and Teens Bereavement Program. The award was presented to Jennifer on Wednesday, November 12th at the Weston Golf Club in Weston, MA. Jennifer joined Parmenter 2 years ago and has been an instrumental addition to the team.

The Joan S. Batchelder Staff Excellence Award was established in 2012 to recognize and reward a staff member each year who exemplifies Parmenter excellence and consistently performs at a level that is above and beyond what is asked and expected while also supporting Parmenter’s mission and values. Parmenter Executive Director, Denise McQuaide said, “Jennifer is nothing short of amazing for her ability to remember names and to make them feel appreciated. She is a shining example of Parmenter’ values”.

Jennifer‘s unassuming, quiet confidence and competence in meeting the needs of children and teens is exceptional. Jennifer knows no boundaries when it comes to responding to bereaving children. HEART play workshops are monthly and are a wonderful gathering place for children to cope with the illness or death of a loved one with other children of similar age. No matter the day or time of day, Jennifer responds to children’s needs in our community with compassion and sensitivity. In the past year, due to increased needs a teen program has been added to the ongoing HEARTplay program.
