Longtime Town Counsel Paul Kenny Retiring

Kenny has been involved in more than 35 years of legal decisions concerning the town.

Paul Kenny, who has served as Sudbury’s town counsel for 38 years, announced that he is retiring at the end of the year from the position.

With a long and distinguished career, he was instrumental in a “number of landmark decisions” in the town, including a decision against the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission regarding a non-renewal of a license, major land acquisitions, and a key decision on minimum manning.

“Less visibly but no less importantly, Kenney has spent countless hours advising staff and board and committee members on the complex legal issues that frequently arise in the course of conducting municipal issues,” reads the letter from the town announcing the retirement.
